Michael Guetlein, who leads the Golden Dome enterprise office, has repeatedly stated that if space-based intercept proves unaffordable at scale, it will not advance to production, even given its inclusion in Trump's executive order; the full Golden Dome architecture carries an estimated price tag of $185 billion, with $17.5 billion requested in the FY27 budget.
